FORUM
Forum July 2008 Issue
Forum online!
The July 2008 issue of Forum is the first non-print issue, in pdf format. You may have already noticed that content is immediately available to readers, whether they are members or not, in keeping with the Board's decision of open access for all.
The next issue of Forum will use Open Journal System software, developed by the Public Knowledge Project, and hosted through Simon Fraser University . The new format will be easily searchable and past issues will remain accessible through the same interface.
The journal has yet another forthcoming change. SLA would like to announce the introduction and trial of a new peer-reviewed section, Research & Innovations in Libraries. Articles may cover any issue related to libraries in Saskatchewan , Canada , and beyond. Submissions are invited from librarians and para-professionals wishing to contribute to the body of library knowledge. It is our intention that Forum provides another avenue of professional publishing for library staff in Canada , hopefully broaden the readership and increase participation in providing journal content. This will only happen with submissions from the readership. We encourage you to contribute, and to do so soon, as this is a 6-month trial to gauge demand and for reviewers.
The homepage is http://www.slaforum.sk.ca/ Article submissions can be made through the link near the top of the page. Until August 11th, please contact slaforum@sasktel.net if you have any questions.
