Kelsey Class Representative

SALT has always encouraged the students enrolled in the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science & Technology (SIAST) Library and Information Technology Program to become active members of the library communitty.

In order to facilitate this stand, SALT created the executive position of "Class Representative."  In the first semester of the first year of the program students are asked to apply for this position.

The Class Representative acts as a liaison between SIAST Library Technology students and the Association, and is entitled to speak on behalf of the students at all general and Executive meetings.

The qualities SALT looks for in it's class representative are:

  • A person willing to take on the reponsibility of being the Kelsey Class Representative for the duration of the two year program.
  • A representative willing to attend 4 to 6 executive meetings a year.  The meetings always take place in the evening or weekends and we always try and accommodate everyone's schedule.
  • A representative who has a positive attitude in supporting and promoting Library and Information Technologists in Saskatchewan.
  • The willingness to perform this function as a volunteer without purpose of monetary gain.
