Interest Group
The purposes of the BCLA are to encourage library organization
and development throughout British Columbia, to coordinate library
services in various parts of the province, to create friendly and
helpful cooperation between libraries, to maintain contact with similar
organizations throughout Canada and elsewhere, and to advance by
education, research, friendly association and through cooperative
effort the mutual interest of all libraries and library personnel.
It is the mission of the Library Technicians' and Assistants' Interest
Group (LTAIG), to establish an inclusive, province-wide organization
which supports and promotes the role of Library Technicians and
Assistants through education, communication and advocacy.

CLA is a non-profit voluntary organization, governed by an elected
Executive Council, which is advised by over thirty interest groups and
committees. It is the national English language association which
represents library workers across the country. It also speaks for the
