- LIBRARY NAME, LIBRARY AFFILIATION, and CITY/TOWN
are the only searchable fields. Search using terms for these.
- Enter your terms in the search box on the main Find a Library
page.
- All terms are automatically keyworded and truncated.
- Boolean searching is not possible.
- Phrase searching is not possible.
- Select "Keyword" in the drop down box for a broad search of terms
in the Library Name field, Library Affiation field, Library Name
and Affiliation Added Entry field (includes alternate spellings,
abbreviations, etc. of library and affiliation names), or City/Town
field.
- Select "Library Name" in the drop down box to search only the
Library Name field.
- Select "City/Town" in the drop down box to search for libraries
located in a specific city/town.
- DO NOT search for terms such as "library hours" or "wheelchair
accessible". This information is displayed in each library's record,
but they are not searchable.
Library browse by type or subject
- Allows you to browse by categories "library type" (such as Public
library) or "library subject."
- Subject refers to the subject specialty of the library's collection
and is most effective for finding libraries with specialized collections.
Geographic search with map
- Click on "Geographical Search with Map" on the main Find a Library
page.
- Use the buttons at the top left of the map interface to "drill
down" on an area of the Saskatchewan map.
- Select the "Help" button at the top of the map interface for
detailed instructions on the map.
- The map is developmental. Street level accuracy is under development.
Library information available
- Each library record will provide as much information as has been
provided to the Directory. Information includes: library name, library
affiliation, status, sector, type, mailing address, physical street
address, city/town, postal code, general inquiry phone, fax and email,
hours of opening, whether library is open to the public, service guidelines,
wheelchair accessibility, subject, highlights of collection, assistive
collections/equipment, library web site, library catalogue, affiliation
web site, and National Library of Canada symbol.
