Albert Library serves an inner city community with a population of about 10,500, with one third of the
residents being of Aboriginal ancestry. The Albert Library provides basic library service enhanced by an
in-depth Aboriginal collection, and culturally based programming. The Albert Library is unique in Canada
- community members have a strong voice in staffing, material selection, program planning, and their
